This just in: Olympus!

This just in: we found out late this afternoon that we won the Olympus account. WOO HOO! The people upstairs really put their heart and soul into this pitch (and I even helped!). I'm so happy that it turned out great for us. As always, a congratulatory party on the patio followed at 5pm. A nice ending to today's workday.

This is a great morale booster for everybody in the company. While this might not be a huge account, $$-wise, it's a solid win with a good brand.

In other news, it looks like our cable modem won't be back up in the next day or so. A service technician was supposed to have visited us today..and he didn't. After a phone call to MediaOne, I found out that no such visit was even scheduled. Great. So, now we have a visit scheduled for Friday. So, hopefully by Friday night I'll be back online at home. Olivia, Mike and I will have to suffer until then, though. :(

I guess the cable companies all around VA like to mess with customers. After 2 no show appointments and just under a month of waiting, they finally came after making a third appointment and installed my modem. And, just like with you Jeff, they tried to tell me (BOTH times they didn't show up) that they didn't even have a record of the appointment in their computer. I guess the third time was the charm.

I'm so thoroughly disgusted with how cable technicians treat customers, it's not even worth writing about. So I'll spare you all, readers, from having to read my potty language.

Anyhow, congrats on the account! This should pick things up a bit! :)

I'm having problems with my Cable Modem too. It likes to take breaks after every 15 minutes. Totally sucks ding dong.

Either way, it can't be as bad as the modem I deal with every night. Are you dialing in from home, Jeff? or are you using your Visor modem?

It took 2 hours to get a 3 minute mp3 last night.

I was dialing in with my Visor. I actually dialed in with my TiBook last night, though. It worked very well under OS X. Very easy to configure. OS X practically drives itself when it comes to network configuration! YAY! :)

Well, looks like my modem is working just fine tonite. I had my cable service turned off last month, but it is still turned on, yet i am not getting charged for it. HAHA
