From the did-I-really-think-it-was-going-to-go-smoothly? dept.

Well, I headed in to the office yesterday, met up with Jack (one of our network engineers), and got the file transfers started for our big server migration. Things seemed to be going great, and then one of the transfers bombed out about 1/4 into the transfer. Luckily, we had loaded Timbuktu onto both of our transfer machines, so we were able to control them from at home and get things rolling again.

To make a long story short, Olivia and I ended up going back downtown for about 3 hours last night around 9:00 and started two more machines copying files. Most everything is copied now, thanks to Jack styaing up late "babysitting" the file transfers last night. Thanks, Jack! As long as everything is done before 6am Monday morning, we're good.

Today has been pretty lazy. We're sitting here watching the Talledega race and I'm catching up on some old email that I've been meaning to take care of for a while. I'm pretty terrible at keeping in close contact with my friends sometimes, so hopefully this blog takes care of that when I don't have time for it. I know it's not quite as personal as directly emailing everyone, but sometimes it's the best I can do.

Special hello to Mike & Carrie Diehl and Mark Muse today! Hopefully, they'll start being regular visitors. :)

Ah...Timbuktu... Those were the days. God, I'd love to have a fast connection...
