Folks, I'm bloggin' it now. I made a pretty dramatic change to the site today. This front page is now an "official" blog. It is run with the help of a software program called "Greymatter" (thanks to a genius named Noah Grey). Greymatter is actually a set of Perl scripts that make my updates MUCH easier to perform. I don't have to use a web-editing program to update my site anymore. Nope, I just go to a secret little web page, login, and update my blog!
The best part of this new system is that it allows you all to respond to my daily thoughts. So, when you're reading through my daily updates, please post a comment or two in the comments section. (Hint: you can access the comments area by clicking on the [# Comments] link at the bottom-right of this update.
Because this is so much easier to update, start looking for updates from me AT LEAST once day. Hopefully, this will alow you all to not only see what I'm doing throughout the days, but also hear more about what I'm doing everyday.
Look for another cool feature coming in the next couple days.... What do you think of this new format? What else would you like to see on my site? Sound off in the feedback area!
Posted by Jeff at April 9, 2001 10:48 PMCongrats Jeff! You beat me to this script! :) I hope it takes off for ya.
Folks, the coolest thing about this software is that Jeff no longer needs to telnet/Fetch/FTP anything each time he updates. (Updating within my company firewall was my primary goal when I was hunting for blog software for my own site).
I'm happy to see that you're going to be updateing more often Jeff!
