Birfday Number Twenty-Six

So it's February 2nd once again. I've never understood why people celebrate the person who's having a birthday; they should be celebrating the person who had to endure having that child. Thanks, Mom. :)

Mom, Dad and Jennifer came to town on Saturday afternoon to help me feel old (don't worry, it didn't work). Even though it had only been since Christmas when I last saw them, it seemed like longer. We talked TiVo, I opened some gifts, we ate some dinner at California Pizza Kitchen, and then enjoyed mom's famous Chocolate Eclair Cake back at the house. Always a yummy treat!

I was totally blown away when I opened my first gift and read the side of the box "5.1 Megapixels". Holy crap. Yeh, a camera. And not just any camera. A kick ass Nikon E5400 5 megapixel model. This thing rules. It's got a movie mode which can shoot either 320x240 or even 640x480 movies with sound. They also gave me a 256MG memory card for it, since my images will be taking up significantly more space now. Thanks, Mom and Dad.

We headed over to Brian's apartment Sunday evening for the Super Bowl, highlighted by a nude streaker on the field, Janet Jackson bearing all for the world to see, and some mediocre advertising. I have to say that I wasn't as impressed with the ads as I have been in previous years. Nonetheless, it was a pretty exciting game, coming down to the last few seconds.

Here are some images I've shot with my camera so far:

My first subject. I'll call it "DSCN0001".

Boredom set in during the middle of the Super Bowl. Bring on Survivor!
