Long Weekend Over

My 3-day (almost 4-day) long weekend has finally come to an end and now here I sit back in good ole' cubicle TMA01058.

With an entire extra day (that's 24 hours total time - approximately 16 hours of "awake" time) of free time time, you'd think I would have gotten a lot accomplished this weekend. You'd be wrong. Instead, I sat around, watched The Price is Right (yes, Rod Rodey IS still on the show!), played some Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and sat around some more. After which I sat around some more. I did get a few things done, but not nearly enough.

And now things are already getting busy here at work, so I must get going.

Don't forget to watch convicted computer hacker Kevin Mitnick tonight on TechTV's The Screen Savers> when he gets online for the first time after being in jail for the last 5 years! I can't wait.

Ahh... I'm glad you said something about The Screen Savers, man. They aired a rerun last night, so I assumed that this week was going to be ALL reruns. Gracias - I will be watching.....

Oh yea, I'll have to catch that. Good stuff.

My plans for the extended weekend mostly got done, but yea, there was a lot of sitting around for me too.

Well, I missed it. Not for lack of trying though, but I'm not going to wait around for that dumb old-fashioned puppet show to finish. What's happened to Tech TV? :(

Oh hey- Pollards-- did you hear about this? I assume this kind of stuff doesn't happen in Bridgewater, but this is a big event for school systems here in Fairfax co. This kind of thing has to give any parent the heebie-jeebies.

You're right, Brian. That wouldn't happen around here. This is too conservative an area. Our school board can't even decide how to configure schools (grades K-5, 6-8, 9-12 or K-4, 5&6, 7&8, 9-12 or K-3, 4&5, 6-8, 9-12, etc.) much less give a sex survey. No wonder the parents are nervous!

It's craziness, I tell ya. Doesn't matter how "grown up" I thought I was back then, I know I certainly would have felt like I was doing something wrong if I had to answer "no" to so many questions. I was so sheltered that the questionnaire would have likely created more questions than satisfied them!! And I'm sure I wouldn't want my child having those conflicts, considering the possible consequences! yikes!

Up here, we did K-6, 7&8, 9-12. The only downside to this is the extreme difference in maturity between the K and 6, since (developmentally) there's so much going on in that time span. The same thing happens again with high school freshman among 18 year old seniors, but the freshmen come in older and probably more able to handle the difference.

Down here (Richmond)most public schools are doing K-5 6-8 9-12. But the private schools go K-4 5-8 9-12.

Too bad, Jeff didn't watch the show or even tape it! Hope it was interesting! I will never know.....my $8.01 / month cable doesn't cover TechTV.
