Day at the river

Hi everybody. Sorry for the lack of updates the past couple of days. It seems like every time I sat down to update the site, something would come up and I'd have to put it off until later.

Friday night, I went back over to that co-worker's house to install their new ethernet card to replace the one I diagnosed as fried from the lightning strike. I installed the card, called Road Runner to tell them the new MAC address, and they were back online almost instantly. I was pretty proud that I had diagnosed the problem correctly. I figured I was correct, but I always seem to second-guess myself on these types of problems.

Olivia and I decided that we needed to do something different on Saturday. So, we headed downtown to the (James) river. There's a couple parks and two islands that are great for walking around, riding bikes, etc. Apparently, one of the islands housed a prison back in the civil war days and so there are some historical landmarks down there, too. We parked the car and walked around (at least 3 or 4 miles, probably) the river bed. It's really neat looking down there because part of the river bed doesn't have water in it anymore, so there's just a "desert" of boulders to climb on and over. I took a bunch of pictures down there, so go check em' out.

Today is another lazy Sunday. We took Gizmo outside for a little walk and now we're watching the race. Gizmo was so funny when we took him out for a walk. When he gets really hot outside, he starts panting, just like a dog. I swear he's part dog.
