Back to OS X...again

Howdy. Today was a little busier. Perhaps somebody at work read my post from last night and decided to answer my request. One thing I really enjoy about my job is that I almost always learn something new everyday. Sometimes it's useful stuff, sometimes it's not. for example, today, I learned that there's some incompatability between Filemaker 4.1v.3 and Photoshop 6.01. Some large clipboard items are too large to tranfer from Photoshop to FM, so Filemaker locks up, causing all open applications to crash with a type 1 error. Facinating. It was rather frustrating trying to figure this out, though.

On a similar note, I went over to a co-worker's house tonight to help with some computer problems. We had a relatively short but violent storm go through the other day and apparently lightning struck in their backyard, striking their cable line. From my testing tonight, it looks like it fried their cable modem, their 10/100 hub, their ethernet port on her G4, and the Jet Direct (ethernet)card in their HP LaserJet. Amazing. So, I'll probably be back over at their house tomorrow evening installing a new ethernet card and hoping everything works again. I felt bad havijng to diagnose the fried components (and then getting paid for it), but if it's the truth, I was doing what I was paid to do.

And...I decided to boot back into OS X this afternoon and give it another shot. So far, it's been great today...We'll see how long it lasts this time. I was able to sucessfully sync my Visor, so that's one less reason to boot back into 9.1.
