Swichers, Revisited

It seems like every time I turn around lately, a PC user I know is asking about switching over to the Mac platform. Most of them say that they've finally had it with virii and spyware on their Windows box and are finally ready to make the switch.

This is strange because it wwasn't more than about a year ago that Apple spent lots of money on a marketing campaign aimed at "switchers". I would say that, for the most part, it wasn't terribly sucessful back then.

It's interesting how something malicious like spyware can seemingly have a greater effect than Apple's own marketing strategies.

I'll be curious to see what happens in the near futurem, as it is rumored that Apple will announce a low-cost desktop Mac tomorrow at MacWorld. Stay tuned, Mac switchers.

Well Jeff I have to say that while I am still a windows guy (I really consider myself a cisco guy) the pull of Mac is getting stronger. Now that I have an ipod I have left win media for Itunes. I prefer quicktime over win media as well. I have started using Firfox instead of IE for a browser and have liked what I see with safari. And oh yes the new mac mini is tight. Just might have to switch. who knows ^_^

I got a new G4 not long ago, but still find myself on the PC 90% of the time. It's hard for me to get used to everything on the Mac.

Jeff, thanks for the laughs. Your observations on here about work made me laugh all night. Seems just like yesterday reading this.
Martin - policies, restrictions, rules? That is really funny. It has been that way for 30 years and will be that way until John and Mike retire. Starts at the top down. Sorry.

I just got my first mac two days ago. I don't know how I got along without it...I will never go back to PC.
