March 12, 2003A new phone in my future...
And speaking of tomorrow, I'll hopefully be receiving my new phone. Why a new phone? Because I'm kinda tired of my current one. It still functions mostly right, but the battery dies REALLY quickly and reception is crappy most of the time. So, I asked our Alltel rep what kinds of cool/cheap phones they could replace mine with and she offered me two choices: The Kyocera 5135 or the Motorola V60i. Both are flip phones with great features and a low $30 price tag. I opted to go with the V60i because it has a Date/Time/Incoming Call display on the outside of the phone. You would need to open the Kyocera phone to see this info. Since our original phones were free, Martin isn't going to pay for me to get a new one, but it's worth it to me. I'm excited. Comments
Join the crew, Eric and I have the same phones. But for $30???? I paid $150 for mine.... bummer. Posted by: Paul at March 12, 2003 9:17 AMHave you broken your antenna yet? I hear these phones tend to suffer from that. Eric? Posted by: Jeff at March 12, 2003 9:22 AMWhat is going on with these Powerbook owners!? This is ridiculous! There weren't any bus crashes at Martin recetnly or anything, right? These people are just "accidentally" destroying their laptops? Is there any chance of them getting an upgrade, or are they just innocently stupid and careless? Posted by: Olivia at March 12, 2003 11:01 AMWhat I mean is.... some people with malicious intentions would intentionally break something knowing that it won't get repaired, but instead a new, better model would replace it. Are these people baking on that hope, or are they just stupid and careless with their multi-thousand-dollar machines? Posted by: Brian at March 12, 2003 1:29 PMOh, ok. I imagine they're probably just stupid and careless. They have no idea what they have in hand much less be in the know of any bigger and better things out there. Jeff? Posted by: Olivia at March 12, 2003 1:39 PMYes, they're just being careless. But, many of them do know that newer, faster machines are out there. However, they also know that we lease our machines and there's no chance of them getting anything new anytime soon. Posted by: Jeff at March 12, 2003 2:10 PMNice phone! Posted by: Jennifer at March 12, 2003 4:55 PMI paid $50 for mine. And no I haven't broken the antenna. I have beaten up that phone and it still looks good and works great! Get the belt clip/case. I love that! Saves me so much from killing the phone. Posted by: Eric at March 12, 2003 8:34 PMPost a comment
