Wow! Who's that? Oh wait. That's me. That's me all dressed up when I went to Portsmouth last week for Aunt Nina's funeral. That's the most dressed up I've gotten in a loooong looong looong time. Ever, perhaps. That's pretty sad isn't it? But, ya know, I learned something that day: getting all dressed up like that isn't as bad and uncomfortable as I remember it being. My big problem is that I always feel constrained and uncomfortable in dressy (or "snazzy" for you older folks) clothes. So, I tend to not want to wear them. But, this time was different. Perhaps it was different because I was much more concerned with paying my respects to my family then my clothes.
Today was a great catch-up day today at work. I closed calls that had been open for a long time and finished up some Intranet projects that have been hanging for months. Pretty cool. I feel a weight lifted from my shoulders.
It looks like I've got yet another house call Thursday night. Yep, another Linksys router install. I think this makes at least 5 or 6 routers I've setup or helped setup. I love those things.
And I'm liking these house calls. Actually, I'm not really liking the actual calls themselves, but rather the money they generate. You see, it's about time to trade-in my 1999 Powerbook G3. It's 2 years old and only has a 4gig drive. I think Olivia would like to give OS X a shot, and the 333mhz processor would probably be a little strained. So, I'm thinking of purchasing wither one of the new 14.1" iBooks or possibly a refurbed 400mhz first-gen Titanium. The iBook is going for around $1800 while I can get the Titanium for around $1400. I think we're still somewhat undecided on which to go with.
Ok, it;s off to bed I go! I'm making a conscious effort to try to get to bed before 1am for the rest of the week. I can already feel the difference..a little.

Hmm...maybe someone should get dressed up more often and take his girlfriend on a REAL date! (and no, Wal-Mart does NOT count!)

My my you look spiffy! This is more dressed up than I've ever seen you look. But you've got it right. As you get older, things take different meanings. It's more about respect than what you wear, but I commend you for dressing up. I'm sure your family appreciates it as well.
Keep up the on-the-side gigs! That's great!
