Trucks and Ducks

Finally...a weekend at home. This has been a much-needed lazy weekend at home. Sortof.

Yesterday (Saturday), there were two big events that Olivia and I wanted to see. The first was the East Coast Nationals show over in Mechanichsville. I had almost forgotten about the show, amazingly enough. I had been thinking about possibly entering the Taco in the show, just to see how it would do at this stage in it's development. But I had waited too late and, clean-wise, it wasn't in any condition to be shown. We decided to go and look around and take pictures, though. It turned out to be a MUCH bigger show than I expected. I had never been to this show before, so I wasn't quite sure how big it would be. There were tons of people there, and some really nice rides. I got a chance to catch up with some people I hadn't seen in a while, and see some trucks (and cars) that I had never seen before. Over all, an awesome show. The second event yesterday was the annual Big Brothers/Big Sisters Rubber Duck Race downtown. You could purchase a duck for $5 each (the $$ goes to the charity) and then they dump all of the ducks in the canal and they race to the finish line. The owner of the winning duck wins $1500 and a chance to win a new VW Beetle. It was pretty fun to watch.

Today, I slept in until 1pm. Wow. It's been a long time since I've slept in that long. And, I only woke up because Olivia came in and woke me up to tell me that I was missing the race. So, here I am, relaxing and enjoying my Sunday, for once. I hope you're doing the same.
