Ashbury Day 1: Holes and Concrete and Cinderblocks, Oh My!
I was greeted at work this morning by a co-worker who will be our new-house neighbor, "Man, we stopped by your house yesterday and they were digging!" At that moment I fully considered skipping work so I could go see the progress. But I didn't.
After work Olivia and I met at the uhh...dirt to check out what was going on. Indeed, we had some big holes in the ground now filled with concrete. There was also a mysterious pile of sandy-brown dirt with an invoice sticking out of it. I can only assume the dirt will be for the "mud" for the cinderblocks that will become our foundation. Oh yeh, when we arrived at the house tonight, the guy was offloading his truck of cinderblocks and leaving them on pallets around our house. I wonder when they will begin actually MAKING something out of all of this mess.
