Things are continuing to move right along with the house. The siding crew have now finished their business and we were pleasantly suprised to find shutters on the house when we visited tonight.
The insulation seems like it's all there, so the drywallers should be working probably tomorrow.
In our pre-drywall meeting earlier this week, we found out that the house completion date has been set for May 25th. And in talking with the NVR people, it looks like our closing on the house will happen on May 30th. So they say right now.
Also, I won't say too much about this (for personal reasons), but we locked in on our interest rate for our mortgage tonight. It's scary. It's scary how much the interest rates have gone up in the year we've been waiting for our house to be built. Let's just say that the rates have gone up somewhere close to 5/8ths of a percent, which equates to QUITE a different house payment than we saw a year ago. I'm getting the same "Holy crap, can we afford this?" feeling that I got when I saw the house payment on our townhouse. And we've done just fine with our townhouse, but this...this is scary.
