April 21, 2006What an incredible weekThis week has been pretty cool, even despite the fact that we still don't have a buyer for our townhouse. The big news of the week is that our company is on a SERIOUS winning streak. A few weeks ago, we were awarded the Sirius Satellite Radio advertising business. Around the same time, we were given the Cruzan Rum work. And this week, we were awarded two more amazing peices of business: Discover Cards and another one that I can't quite post here yet. It's a tire company and hopefully it'll break in the news early next week so I can brag about it here. To say the least, things at work are amazingly upbeat. In fact, today was pretty much a big party at work. Sometimes I still can't believe that's where I work. I'm incredibly lucky. Edit: The New York Times has now broken the news about our most recent win. It's BF Goodrich. Woo hoo! This weekend looks to be a busy one for showing the house. We have two showings on Saturday afternoon -- both groups of people are from the Northern VA area. And then we've got our open house on Sunday where I've already had one email asking about that. So, hopefully we'll have lots of interest. Things with the new house continue to move along at a quick pace. The drywall guys were back in yesterday putting in those last peices of 'rock in the garage. Still not sure why they didn't do those peices with the rest of it. It also looks like they came back and shot a layer of paint on top of the primer they layed down earlier in the week. They've taken the plastic off of the windows, so it appears as though they're done "fumigating" the place. Not really sure what the next step is. Cabinets, maybe? Not sure if they're going to do this with your place or not, Jeff, but in some new houses, they only sheetrock the walls that touch a shared wall with the inside of the house. They can then (on paper) say that they've insulated and sheetrocked all the living space, which can sometimes leave you with half of a finished garage. Of course, they offer to finish it...for some ridiculous price. It's crazy. They did it to a client of mine. He said it was pretty standard. The Sos's garage is that way too- with drywall on the walls that touch an inside wall, the rest exposed framing. I hope that isn't going to be the case with your place, but if it is, gimme a call if I can help hang some sheetrock. BTW- I still love this redesign. Nice work!
