Here's some quick and dirty details on the latest with the new house:
- The railings for the stairs were installed late last week. We were surprised to see them install the railings before they primered/painted the walls, since they typically just come in and spray everything - top to bottom.
- The interior doors have been installed and all of the base board trim has been installed.
- An initial coat of either paint or primer has been sprayed throughout the house. The windows and railings were covered in plastic. The end result is that the inside of the house has a distinct white-ish yellow glow from the sunlight coming through the painted and plastic-covered windows.
- The steps (and mini deck) have been installed in the garage. It's a little smaller than I was expecting, but still larger than I'd like.
- The concrete sidewalk has been poured and (following tradition) Olivia and I did our homeowner-ly duty and scratched our names into the front porch. The driveway area has been graded a little more. I don't think the asphalt is coming anytime soon, though.
- The cabinets and marble countertops are sitting in boxes in the middle of the great room. The two remaining columns are in boxes in the garage.
