Progress Accelerating

The progress on the new house seems to be accelerating at an all-time high now. Here's the skinny:

- The cabinets, countertops, and island in the kitchen are all done. The dishwasher, range, and microwave are all installed and looking beautiful all clad in stainless steel. Still waiting for the refrigerator to arrive.

- All of the sinks are installed and the water has been turned on in the house. The toilet in our bedroom is still sitting in our tub. I guess that's where we'll crap. Or maybe they'll install it.

- All of the wood floors downstairs are installed and looking AWESOME!! They have put a layer of rubbery-plastic stuff over them to protect them while the house is being completed.

- They started putting up light fixtures yesterday. The bathrooms are all done as well as many of the recessed lights and hallway lights. It's neat to see the fixtures in person as we picked many of them out of a book because they didn't have them in-store. So far, we're happy with our choices.

- They put down the asphalt driveway yesterday. YAY! It looks great, even if it doesn't go even ONE INCH past the entrance to our garage. Guess we don't get any favors. I was hoping they'd pave a little past our garage so I'd have a temporary place to put the bike. Oh well.

- Our next door neighbors are pretty much done. They have sod and landscaping and they got power-washed yesterday.
